Lucky’s Anti-Litter & Beautification Pick Up and Cleanup Guide
Since 2021, PHCC has used this educational coloring and activity book to help Pine Hills youth learn about recycling, beautification, community pride, civic responsibility, and environmental stewardship. With community support, our next goal will place 1,000 additional books and 1,000 crayon packs into the hands of local children.
Teaching Community Pride Through Education
Lucky Litter is PHCC’s beloved anti-litter mascot, envisioned by community pioneer Myra Johnson, Past President Patricia Rumph, and Immediate Past President Dr. Latanya Nichols. Through this educational coloring and activity book, children are introduced to lessons surrounding beautification, recycling, civic responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
Since 2021, PHCC has maintained and expanded this legacy initiative, placing more than 1,000 books into the community and engaging over 80 families through storytimes, youth programs, outreach activities, and community events, all at no cost to participants.
A Cleaner, Greener Pine Hills
This initiative reflects PHCC’s commitment to Participation, Accessibility, Collaboration, and Excellence while supporting our mission of preserving a clean, safe, and prosperous community.
Together, We Can Make A Difference.
Building On A Program That Has Served Pine Hills Since 2021
Lucky Litter is not a new idea waiting to be tested. It is an established PHCC youth education initiative with a record of distributing books, engaging families, building partnerships, and bringing environmental education into trusted community spaces. Our new campaign will build directly on that foundation.
What Lucky Litter Has Already Accomplished
- More than 1,000 books distributed to Pine Hills youth and families.
- More than 80 families engaged through Lucky Litter storytimes and outreach activities.
- Five community parades featuring Lucky Litter and reinforcing anti-litter awareness.
- Storytimes and youth engagement through the Orange County Library System, United Foundation of Central Florida, Pine Hills Head Start, Boys & Girls Club, and other community partners.
- Environmental education focused on responsible waste disposal, recycling, beautification, civic pride, and community responsibility.
What This Campaign Will Make Possible
- 1,000 additional children will receive a free Lucky Litter educational coloring and activity book.
- 1,000 children will receive a free crayon pack so they can complete the activities at home.
- PHCC will expand distribution through schools, libraries, Head Start, youth programs, neighborhood events, and community partners.
- More families will gain access to standards-aligned lessons that encourage cleaner habits and long-term environmental stewardship.
- Additional support beyond the $1,334 goal will allow PHCC to print more books and reach even more youth.
