Growing a Healthier, Safer, and More Resilient Pine Hills

Through the Orlando Metro Treesilience Program, Pine Hills Community Council is helping strengthen tree canopy, support climate resilience, and protect vulnerable neighborhoods from the impacts of extreme heat, storms, and unhealthy trees.

About Treesilience

The Nature Conservancy is working in Orlando to ensure that healthy tree canopy exists in vulnerable communities in the face of climate change.

Homeowners who are more vulnerable to extreme weather events often lack the resources for preventive tree maintenance, increasing their risk of damage caused by unhealthy or dying trees.

PHCC’s Role

Pine Hills Community Council is proud to support this work as part of our commitment to Preserving a Clean, Safe & Prosperous Community.

This effort reflects our administration’s commitment to Participation, Accessibility, Collaboration, and Excellence as we continue Setting the PACE for a Better Pine Hills.

Reduces Heat

Healthy tree canopy helps reduce extreme heat and urban heat island effects.

Lowers Costs

Strategic tree canopy can help reduce utility costs and improve neighborhood comfort.

Improves Air Quality

Trees support cleaner air and contribute to a healthier environment.

Strengthens Resilience

Tree maintenance and planting help communities better prepare for climate impacts.

Three Core Components
