Committee Purpose

Why This Committee Is Being Formed

The Community Health & Wellness Ad-Hoc Committee is established by the Pine Hills Community Council, Inc. to plan, coordinate, and support community-based health and wellness initiatives that improve access to preventive care, health education, and social service resources for Pine Hills residents.

Its primary responsibility is to organize and support the implementation of the Pine Hills Community Council Health, Wellness & Resource Fair, along with other related initiatives that connect residents with healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, and community resource partners.

Committee Responsibilities

How Members Will Help Move the Work Forward

Committee members will contribute their knowledge, relationships, ideas, and time to help PHCC plan an organized, accessible, and impactful event.

Member Commitment

What Prospective Members Should Expect

Expected Participation

  • Participate in committee meetings from August through November 2026.
  • Attend approximately two meetings per month, or as needed.
  • Meet virtually, in person, or through a hybrid format.
  • Complete agreed-upon assignments between meetings.
  • Communicate promptly when support, clarification, or schedule changes are needed.
  • Represent PHCC and the committee in a professional and collaborative manner.

What Members Are Not Required to Do

  • Members are not required to be healthcare professionals.
  • Members do not have to serve on the PHCC Board of Directors.
  • Members are not expected to personally fund the event.
  • Members are not expected to complete every planning task alone.
  • Members may contribute according to their skills, availability, and organizational capacity.

Leadership & Accountability

How the Committee Will Be Organized

The committee will operate under the authority of the Pine Hills Community Council and provide regular updates throughout the planning process.

Committee Leadership

The committee will be chaired by an individual appointed by the PHCC President or Board of Directors. The Chair will coordinate meetings, guide planning efforts, and support accountability.

Reporting Structure

The committee will provide periodic updates, recommendations, and planning reports to the PHCC President and Board of Directors.

Committee Duration

This is an ad-hoc committee created for the planning and implementation of the fair and related initiatives. It will dissolve after completing its assigned responsibilities unless extended by the PHCC Board.

Before You Commit

Do I need to be a PHCC member to serve?

No. The committee may include PHCC Board Members, PHCC members, community volunteers, healthcare professionals, nonprofit partners, residents, and representatives from collaborating organizations.

Do I need professional healthcare experience?

No. Healthcare experience is valuable, but the committee also needs people with skills in outreach, logistics, sponsorships, communications, volunteer coordination, education, business engagement, and community service.

How often will the committee meet?

The anticipated schedule is approximately twice monthly from August through November 2026, with additional meetings only when needed as the event approaches.

Will meetings be virtual or in person?

Meetings may be held virtually, in person, or through a hybrid format, depending on the agenda and the needs of committee members.

Can my organization participate without serving on the committee?

Yes. Organizations may participate as health providers, resource partners, sponsors, exhibitors, in-kind contributors, outreach partners, or volunteers without becoming formal committee members.

What happens after the fair?

The committee will review outcomes, provide recommendations, and complete any remaining responsibilities. The ad-hoc committee will then dissolve unless the PHCC Board extends its work for additional initiatives.
